We find joy in wrong turns, downhill rides, candy-coloured streamers and hand woven cottons. We like pockets to carry pebbles in and to hide muddy hands in.
We also like to think someday we'll grow pedals on our feet.
Until then we wander. Looking for looms, their heritage keepers and their stories. And retelling them to you in hues stolen from our own closets. You’ll find humble lungis and gamchas hobnobbing with airy linens and khadis. You’ll find cheekiness at its graceful best and designs where a sense of comfort lends itself to a more pleasing aesthetic. All handwoven, designed and crafted with love.
We love khadi, handwoven cottons and linens but hate chemicals and wasteful methods. We also prefer not to deal with middlemen which means we need to travel to where our weavers are. Mostly Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. We are thankful for both the necessity and the opportunity to do so.
Working with NGOs and sometimes, most fortunately on our part, National Award winning weavers allows us to design our garments starting with the fabric. But more importantly, it allows our fabrics to evolve with each collection. The search for softer, lighter and more breathable never ends. Along the way discoveries are stumbled upon, decades of knowledge and weaving traditions are tapped into and woven into reality.
